about

lyrics

When I was just a child
I'd lie awake in bed afraid to dream
But I would never cry
Or drown all my fears inside a TV screen

Instead, there in my bed
I'd put my heart on paper, then to tune
And send it out in postcards to the moon

I've tried to find out why
The paths I choose lead me astray sometimes
I've lived only to give
That of myself that defies selfish pride

At night, my spirit fights
Trying so hard to reach out from this womb
Forever writing postcards to the moon

In time, I grew to find
That looking for answers never eased my pain
I failed, and fate prevailed
But asking the questions has not been in vain

Today, I fell away
My sacrifice laid costly on this tomb
A pen for writing postcards to the moon
